COMMUNITY SCOOPS: Our Humble Beginnings
Community Scoops is the modern name behind the 'tradition' and 'wealth of knowledge' of the 'Mr Whippy' Industry here in Australia.
Originally vending the streets of Melbourne; vending to local homes and businesses, 'Mr Whippy' (not our trading name - rather a term synonymous with Ice Cream vending Industry) has become a household legend. Songs have been written about 'him' and the 'Greensleeves' tune is traditionally associated with 'Mr Whippy Vans' travelling down your street, jingling his tune and selling his delicious ice cream. Today however, this traditional has been forced to stop by bureacratic red-tape and local laws.
Street vending is now very limited, mostly due to archaic Local Council by-laws. Street vending restrictions exist in many Australiain states and the traditional 'Mr Whippy Van' is banned in many regions from trading in the traditional Australian way; our mission.....to bring it back; just like the good ol' days.

SENIOR SCOOPER- Saoul Papadopoulos
Saoul Papadopoulos, the Senior Scooper at Community Scoops, has 'the longest' continuing history in the Mobile Ice Cream Vending industry here in Australia, starting as early as 1963 when he arrived in Australia. Since then he has built countless Ice Cream Trucks, Vans and Trailers used by most vendors both in Australia and New Zealand. Saoul is recognised as one of the 'experts' in this industry, and is 'THE' pioneer of its development and expansion here in Australia. He has the name the industry trusts!
CHIEF SCOOPER - Theo Papadopoulos
Theo Papadopoulos, the Chief Scooper and founder of Community Scoops is the fresh approach to the Mobile Ice Cream Vending industry, and the proposed flame bearer, of the work undertaken by his father, Saoul Papadopoulos since 1963. Community Scoops continues the tradition, whilst moving forward and embracing new and inovative catering ideas for our customers.

JUNIOR SCOOPER - Angelo Papadopoulos
Angelo is our Junior Scooper (not really...its just we're running out of titles) and brings with him the youth and experiences of the younger generation, who still remember 'Mr Whippy' visiting their local street.
